I conducted research on the “Dependence of Eddington ratio on the radio emissions from supermassive black holes.” My work involved around reducing VLBA images of galaxies and their central black holes from AIPS to analyze and understand the factors contributing to the presence or absence of radio emissions in these astronomical phenomena.

I made CAD prototype designs for the nano satellite to be sent to space for Nepal. I also worked with STM32 and programmed the processor using C. At the end, I was also able to produce prototype designs for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) embedded into the nanosatellite.

I selected 4 high school students from an application pool of hundreds of other students and mentored them onto the project ‘Computational drug validation of penicillin as a lead molecule against PBP2 protein’. They were able to develop skills in protein visualization using PYMOL, molecular docking using AutoDock Vina tool and ADME screening of potential drug ligands using the SwissADME web tool.

Coordinated the understanding and design of a biofertilizer containing a unique consortia of 11 soil bacteria under the mentorship of senior scientist of Nepal, Dr. Pramod Aryal. I also utilized tools in computational drug discovery – Molecular Docking, ADME screening – and worked against the Seroheme Methyl Transferase target protein and proposed a few potential computationally validated inhibitors.

Designed experiments for target validation of novel Cyclin Dependent Kinase 12 (CDK12) protein. At the end of the project, I also incorporated computational drug design tools i.e. Molecular docking to verify the efficacy of the drug THZ against CDK12 protein.

I attended the Summer STEM Institute (SSI), a 6-week virtual summer international program. During this program, I covered data science concepts including pandas, numpy, matplotlib, and seaborn. I implemented and studied various machine learning algorithms such as linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, KNN, and convolutional neural networks. At the end of the program, I conducted background research on antibody therapies against COVID-19.
